A Critique of Xinhai Revolution - Discourse of a loyalist
Speaker: Dr. Puk Wing Ki (Instructor at Department of Chinese History, Chinese University of Hong Kong)
Looking back on the Xinhai Revolution 100 years later, what actually happened then? Was the fall of the Qing Dynasty historically inevitable or accidental? Why would I view the fall of the Qing Dynasty as a major catastrophe for China? What lessons can the social movers today learn from the Xinhai Revolution? In this lecture these questions will be explored and discussed.
